Inside the Cozy Library Canvas: 19,200 Stickers, One Perfect Reading Nook
A deep dive into one of our most-loved designs, and the 19,200 tiny stickers that bring it to life.
You know that feeling when you walk into a room and immediately want to curl up and never leave? That's exactly what pixel artist Scilex captured in the Cozy Library Canvas, and we're going to show you every detail that makes it special.
The Scene: A Reading Nook You Can Almost Step Into
Let's talk about what you're actually looking at, because there is a lot going on in this design and every single detail was intentional.
Front and center: a leather armchair with an open book resting on it, mid-read. The kind of chair that has a permanent butt indent because someone clearly lives there. (We don't judge. We relate.)
Behind it, an arched window reveals a quiet winter evening. Bare trees, glowing windows from neighboring houses, and that specific shade of teal that only exists at dusk when the snow makes everything feel muffled and calm.
To the left, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves packed with books in every colour imaginable. There's a trailing vine growing over the shelves, a globe tucked between book stacks, and a candle glowing on the windowsill. A little black cat has curled up on the floor. And overhead, string lights stretch across the ceiling because of course they do.
This isn't just pixel art. It's a whole mood.
By the Numbers
Here's where things get serious (in the best way):
- 19,200 individual stickers. Yes, really. Each one hand-placed by you.
- 87 unique colours, from deep mahogany bookshelves to the soft glow of string lights
- 12" × 16" finished size, large enough to make a statement on any wall
- ~32 hours of crafting. This is a marathon, not a sprint, and that's the whole point.
- 4.93 out of 5 stars from over 1,500 reviews
For context, 87 colours is a lot. Most of our sticker sheets use 20–30. The Cozy Library Canvas uses nearly three times that because Scilex wanted every book spine, every shadow, and every flicker of candlelight to feel distinct. When you're placing stickers, you'll notice the difference. The colour shifts are subtle and satisfying.
What's In the Kit
Everything you need to get started:
- 1× numbered canvas grid, your roadmap for all 19,200 stickers
- 4× glossy vinyl sticker sheets, premium quality, perfectly cut squares that snap into place with a satisfying click
Our sticker sheets use glossy vinyl, not the dull paper stickers you'll find in cheaper kits. The difference shows in the finished product. Vinyl catches light beautifully, stays put permanently, and gives the completed canvas that vibrant, almost-backlit look that makes people do a double take.
An applicator tool is available separately but not required. Many pixylers use tweezers or just their fingers. (No wrong answers here.)
The Experience: 32 Hours of Not Looking at Your Phone
Let's be honest. The reason most of us got into crafting wasn't because we needed more wall art. It's because our brains needed a break.
The Cozy Library Canvas is rated as an Advanced project, which means it's designed for crafters who want to sink into something substantial. This isn't a 45-minute sticker sheet you finish in one sitting (though we love those too). This is the project you come back to every evening for weeks, the one that gives your hands something to do while a podcast plays in the background, the one where you look up and realize two hours just vanished.
32 hours of crafting sounds like a lot, but pixylers consistently tell us it goes too fast. That's what happens when you're in flow. You stop thinking about your to-do list, your inbox, your everything, and you just... place stickers. It's meditative. It's satisfying. And slowly, pixel by pixel, this incredibly detailed scene comes to life under your hands.
The Finished Piece
When it's done, you have an actual piece of wall art. Not something you toss in a drawer. A framed, frameable, conversation-starting piece that you built yourself, sticker by sticker.
The glossy vinyl stickers catch light at different angles, giving the whole piece a subtle shimmer that flat prints can't replicate. The pixel art style means it looks intentional and artistic. Not like a mosaic craft project, but like a real piece of contemporary art that happens to be made of 19,200 tiny squares.
Most pixylers frame theirs and hang them in their reading nook, home office, or bedroom. Some have told us their Cozy Library Canvas inspired them to actually build the reading nook. We take full credit for that.

The Details That Make It Special
Every Pixyls design is created by a real pixel artist. Never AI-generated, never a pixelated photo. Scilex designed the Cozy Library Canvas as an original piece of pixel art, which means every book spine colour, every leaf on the trailing vine, and every pane in that arched window was a deliberate creative choice.
Our stickers are perfectly cut squares that fit the grid precisely. No gaps, no overlaps, no frustration. Just the quiet satisfaction of each piece clicking into place exactly where it belongs.
And every single kit is inspected before it ships to make sure everything's accounted for. Because running out of colour #47 at hour 28 would be genuinely tragic and we would never do that to you.
