The Futuristic Cityscape Canvas: 19,200 Stickers, One Neon-Soaked Cyberpunk Skyline
Neon lights, a black cat, and 19,200 stickers. Welcome to the city that never sleeps.
If the Cozy Library Canvas is a warm hug, the Futuristic Cityscape is a shot of espresso at midnight. Pixel artist PixelJeff built a neon-soaked cyberpunk world from scratch, and we turned it into one of our most popular canvases. Here's why.
The Scene: Somewhere Between Blade Runner and a Studio Ghibli Rooftop
The sky is on fire. A gradient of amber, burnt orange, and deep gold stretches across the top of the canvas, broken by the silhouettes of towering buildings.
Below the skyline, the city is alive. Neon signs in Japanese and English climb the buildings on both sides. "BAR" glows in vertical gold letters on the right. Pink and green signs flicker on the left. There's a cafe, what looks like a capsule hotel sign, and enough visual detail to discover something new every time you look at it.
And right in the middle of it all, standing on a walkway that bridges the gap between buildings: a black cat. Just vibing. Completely unbothered by the entire cyberpunk metropolis happening around it.
That cat might be the most relatable character in any Pixyls design.
By the Numbers
- 19,200 individual stickers, same count as our other canvases but with a completely different colour story
- 20 unique colours, which is surprisingly few for a design this complex. PixelJeff worked with a tight palette to create maximum contrast and glow.
- 12" x 16" finished size
- ~32 hours of crafting
- 4.93 out of 5 stars from over 1,500 reviews
Here's what makes the colour count interesting: the Cozy Library Canvas uses 87 colours for a soft, blended look. The Futuristic Cityscape uses just 20, but the contrast between the warm oranges and cool neon greens/pinks/cyans makes it feel like it's glowing. Less colours, more impact. PixelJeff knew exactly what he was doing.
What's In the Kit
- 1x numbered canvas grid
- 4x glossy vinyl sticker sheets
The glossy vinyl finish is especially important for this design. The neon signs and sunset sky catch light differently depending on the angle, which gives the whole piece a shimmer that makes it look like the signs are actually lit up. More than one pixyler has told us guests thought it was a backlit print.
The Build: A Colour Palette That Tells a Story
With only 20 colours, you'd think this would be a simpler build than something with 80+. It's not. The challenge here isn't variety, it's precision. Those neon accents are small, sometimes just a few stickers wide, and placing them perfectly is what makes the signs readable and the glow effects believable.
The payoff? Every section you complete adds another layer of atmosphere. The sky comes together fast and feels rewarding. The buildings are dense and detailed. And when you finally place those tiny neon pink and cyan stickers that form the signs, the whole thing clicks.
This is a 32-hour project, and most pixylers tell us it flies by. Put on a synthwave playlist, pour something cold, and disappear into it.
The Finished Piece
This is one of those designs that stops people in their tracks. The cyberpunk aesthetic is bold enough to be a focal point in any room, and the pixel art style gives it a retro-meets-modern quality that works whether your space is minimalist, maximalist, or somewhere in between.
Frame it, hang it, and wait for the questions. "Where did you get that?" will be followed quickly by "Wait, you made that?"
Who This Canvas Is For
- Cyberpunk fans and sci-fi lovers who want their walls to match their taste
- Gamers looking for wall art that feels like a screenshot from the coolest game that doesn't exist
- Pixylers who've done a cozy design and want something completely different
- Cat people. Obviously.
- Anyone who's ever wished they could live inside a lo-fi hip-hop background
Cozy Library vs. Futuristic Cityscape: The Ultimate Pixyls Debate
We get asked this a lot, so here's the honest answer: they're two completely different moods.
The Cozy Library is warm browns, soft light, and the feeling of curling up with a book. The Futuristic Cityscape is electric oranges, neon glow, and the energy of a city that runs on caffeine and ambition. Both are 12" x 16", both are 19,200 stickers, both are Advanced level.
Some pixylers buy one. Most end up buying both. We're not saying anything. We're just presenting facts.
